A widowed pensioner has been given a $288 fine by Bayside council after a neighbour reported her for having her dog on her own driveway without a lead.

Council Watch spokesperson, Dean Hurlston, says people are growing increasingly unhappy with how they’re treated by councils.

“Bayside’s got plenty of money, they’re not in any trouble, but the residents are loud and clear. They’re not happy with how dirty the streets are, how things are not being maintained, the council is not doing their job,” he told Tony Jones.

He also says councils are aiding and abetting “Karen’s whinging”.

“It’s really feeding into the narrative that councils are there just to punish people,” he said.
