Emergency services minister Jaclyn Symes says reports Victorians waited almost six minutes for urgent Triple Zero calls during Tuesday’s catastrophic storms are “not accurate”.

Almost 200 Victorians waited for help on Tuesday afternoon, with some making calls for fire services having to wait for more than a minute, while those trying to get through to the SES were on hold for 23 minutes.

But Ms Symes has told Tom Elliott “what the data shows is that no one waited more than around three minutes”.
