North Melbourne told to ‘grow up’ after omitting club great in centenary video
Tony Jones has slammed North Melbourne’s “disgraceful” decision to omit Wayne Carey from a social media video celebrating their centenary.
The club will celebrate 100 years in the VFL/AFL in 2025, releasing a one-off jumper and video to celebrate.
But Carey’s highlights weren’t part of the clip, and the Nine News sports presenter told Tom Elliott the club great deserved to be celebrated despite the controversial circumstances which led to his departure from the Roos.

“It’s disgraceful that he hasn’t figured in that video,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“He’s done some stupid things, but surely people deserve a second or third chance don’t think. I think this would hurt him and the club needs to grow up.”
