Nobel Peace Prize winner takes on nuclear weapons
An anti-nuclear group which began in Melbourne has received this year’s Nobel Peace Prize during a ceremony in Norway.
Dr. Margaret Beavis, from the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons and president of the Medical Association for Prevention of War has told Ross and John the real thrill came earlier this year.
“The big thrill for us was the Treaty in July. Getting 132 countries to support a really positive step on the road to nuclear disarmament,” she said.
“The Nobel Prize is the icing on the cake.”
