Nic Newman has latest on his injury prognosis after ‘shattering’ pre-season setback

Nic Newman is still expecting to miss the remainder of the season despite making progress in his rehab from a serious knee injury sustained earlier this year.

The Carlton defender ruptured his patella tendon in his left knee in a training injury back in January.

Newman recently resumed running, leading to speculation he could still play in 2025, but he conceded he still has a lot of rehab work left to do.

“You just go do one run outside and everyone thinks you’re ready to play,” he said on Wide World of Sports.

“The timeline hasn’t really changed at the moment, I have a lot of work still to do.”
