New ‘phubbing’ study reveals relationship dangers of smartphone use

A new problem has begun to spark relationship troubles ? ‘phubbing’.

A university study has found smartphone use is doing a lot of damage at home, with claims the use of phones has begun to lead to spouses being ignored ? intentionally or otherwise.

Baylor University professor James Roberts told 3AW Mornings it was so bad, ‘phubbing’ had fast joined the traditional ‘big three’ sources of relationship troubles ? money, sex and children.

‘It (phubbing) is almost more troublesome because it’s so pervasive – it’s there every day, all the time,’ he explained.
