New mask that covers nose only ‘won’t work’ in stopping COVID-19 spread
A new mask that only covers a person’s nose has been designed by a South Korean company for people concerned about COVID-19 spread to wear while eating.
But it’s quickly been dismissed as a novelty idea by those in the medical profession.
The mask, called ‘Kosk’, is intended to allow people to protect their nostrils from the threat of airborne viruses when they need to eat or drink.
“I was really quite surprised when I saw this,” Professor Bruce Thompson, Dean of the School of Health Sciences at Swinburne University, told Ross and Russel.
“It’s not going to work.”
