New-look AFL Grand Final parade branded a ‘disaster’ by footy fans
The AFL’s grand final parade on the Yarra River has been branded a “disaster” by Tony Jones, with many footy fans sharing the same view.
The main gripe? People can’t actually see what’s happening.
TJ, who is filling in as host on 3AW Mornings, said he wasn’t taking a shot at the AFL for the sake of it, but it was clear it hadn’t worked as hoped.

“I would put it in the same category as Meatloaf, AFLX and the Batmobile with Angry Anderson in it at Waverley,” Tony Jones said.
“In 10 years time, we will be looking at pictures of this and using it as a punchline.
“Anyway, you live and learn and try different things, but I daresay they won’t be doing this again.”
