New council cat ban has ‘strong’ backing of community

Bass Coast Shire Council has banned cats from leaving their owner’s property at any time.

The new rule will be enforced from July 1 next year.

“We have done a lot of consultation on this and the feedback has come in strongly that this is what the community wants us to do,” she said.
