New Comanchero bikie boss likely to make move to Melbourne
The man likely to take on the Comanchero’s outlaw bikie gang national presidency is expected to leave Sydney and run the gang from Melbourne.
Sydney chapter commander Allan Mehan is expected to take over the role after the recent arrest of Mick Murray and the shooting of Tarek Zahed.
Expert in outlaw motorcycle gangs from Queensland’s University of Technology, Associate Professor Mark Lauchs, says a move towards leading the outlaw motorcycle gang from Victoria makes sense.
“They’ve been running from Sydney, but they’ve been getting a lot of harassment. So there’s been a lot of police activity against the Comancheros and their associates in the last two weeks,” he told Ross and Russel.
“It’s going to be a lot easier to run it from Melbourne than from Sydney because he doesn’t have to worry about anti-association laws.
“If you were going to do something, especially if you were going to get a lot of senior guys together, you’re probably going to want to do it in one of the states that doesn’t have the seriously tough laws — so Melbourne or the ACT.”
