Bike lane expansion to be fast-tracked in City of Melbourne
The delivery of 44 kilometres of new bike lanes in the City of Melbourne will be fast-tracked.
The council last week voted to ramp up bike lane activity in a bid to achieve its 2040 zero emissions target.
About 25 kilometres of bike lanes are expected to be installed in coming months and it’s hoped all 44 kilometres of bike lanes will be delivered within four years.
About 19 kilometres of protected bike lanes have already been installed.
