‘Never been under so much pressure’: Ambulance Victoria pushed to the brink
Ambulance Victoria CEO Tony Walker has told Heidi Murphy paramedics have “never been under so much pressure” as Victoria recorded 766 new local cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, its highest daily number of cases ever.
“Morale is probably the lowest I’ve seen it to be honest, I think it is really tough out there for people right now and there are delays at hospital because the system itself is under such pressure as a result of the pandemic,” he said.
“It is very tough role to be a paramedic right now, and it is very tough role to be any healthcare worker.”
It comes as Ambulance Victoria have released a 40 second commercial urging Victorians to get the jab.
Featuring unscripted appearance from paramedics, the ad details the reasons why we should get vaccinated.
As frontline healthcare workers, we’ve seen first-hand the devastating effects of COVID-19 in our community. Vaccination is an important part of our armour to protect ourselves, our colleagues and our loved ones.
