Neil Mitchell: Victoria ‘sleep-walking towards disaster’ as wild weather halts power grid

Neil Mitchell has urged the government to listen to the people on the ground and experts regarding power after 500,000 people were left without power.
He says it’s been know the power grid has been fragile during summer and the state is not ready for wild weather events for a “few years”.
“We’ve been told by Black Saturday survivors … we are ‘sleep-walking towards disaster, we are not ready’. That’s what they’re saying, they’ve got to listen,” he told Jacqui Felgate.
