Imagine this. You’re 20, enjoying the trip of a lifetime when you decide to jump out of a plane, some 14,000 feet in the air, to skydive over the Swiss Alps.

You jump out of the plane, attached to your instructor, but the parachute won’t open. It doesn’t open.
