Neil Mitchell pays tribute to Patrick Smith following sudden passing

Neil Mitchell has paid tribute to legendary sports reporter and columnist Patrick Smith, who passed away suddenly aged 71 on Sunday.

Mr Smith was well know for holding major sporting bodies to account, working across print and radio for some of Melbourne’s biggest publications.

“I knew him well and he was a good man,” Neil Mitchell said on 3AW Mornings.

“He said what he believed and to hell with the rest. I had some blues with him myself and they were a bit of fun.”
