Neil Mitchell says the media overstepped the line by chasing Anthony Albanese out of a press conference yesterday.

The Labor leader called an end to a media appearance in Western Australia on Tuesday, and was followed out by media demanding he reveal his party’s costings.

Neil Mitchell says they were “harassing and effectively bullying the alternative Prime Minister”.

“They chased him through a door, shouting questions at him. He’d already declined to answer,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

“An aggressive interview is fine, that’s one-on-one, that’s a bit different.

“I think the media crossed the line. It was a braying pack.

“You don’t have to respect the man, but show some respect for the office.”
