Neil Mitchell confirms big changes to the meat department at Coles

Coles is officially slashing its meat department.

3AW Drive first flagged the changes in June.

Neil Mitchell confirmed the news on his program on Thursday.

He said the stores had begun the transition, with the process is expected to be completed by October 11.

As part of the new model, all meat department products will arrive pre-cut in all stores.

“They’re not saying it, but obviously they are going to cut staff – they must be,” Neil Mitchell said.
