‘Weak!’: Neil Mitchell blasts Labor’s ‘cowardly campaign’ in Victoria
Neil Mitchell has blasted Labor for running a “cowardly campaign” in Victoria.
3AW Mornings has made numerous requests to speak to Anthony Albanese and other senior Labor figures, but only one — Kristina Keneally — has spoken to Neil Mitchell on air since the election campaign began.
“We have, on this program, more listeners than any other radio program through Victoria in the morning. At times we’ve got more than any other program in the country,” Neil Mitchell said.
“You’re trying to decide and despite endless efforts since this campaign started we have spoken to one Labor person since this campaign started.
“Where is Albo? This is a man who said you don’t win a fight by not turning up.
“The election started and suddenly they have gone.
“That’s an insult to Victorians, it’s a cowardly, small-target strategy.
“Labor has decided it’s risk versus benefit and the risk of Mr Albanese stuffing it up in an interview here is greater than the benefit of talking to you, it’s that simple.”
Neil Mitchell has exchanged private text messages with Mr Albanese who has promised to be available.
“But his staff don’t even call back! None of the minders in Labor even call you back,” he said.
“Mr Albanese still says he’ll talk to us before the election — we’ll see. At the moment it is cowardly.”
