Federal Arts Minister Tony Burke has indicated music streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music could be forced to change their algorithms to favour Australian music.

It comes after he made his intention to introduce local content quotas for video streaming services known on Monday.

Neil Mitchell doesn’t like the idea.

“Why protect, and coddle, and subsidise an industry?

“It should be your choice!”
