Nationals leader launches scathing attack on Coles and Woolworths amid claims of price gouging
Federal Nationals leader David Littleproud is calling on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to launch an inquiry into fruit and vegetables following claims of price gouging.
Littleproud called out the “imbalance” between cattle prices compared to supermarket prices, with cattle prices dropping by 60-70 per cent in June, compared to supermarket prices only dropping eight per cent.
Littleproud did not hold back on his criticism of Coles and Woolworths in particular, labelling them the “worst corporate citizens in this country”.
