Mum’s reaction after Xavier College sends out alarming safety letter
Xavier College has warned its students to “GO DIRECTLY HOME” and stay away from a local oval after school.
On Wednesday, Tom Elliott was sent a copy of a letter distributed to parents of students at Xavier College warning them not to stop at Glenferrie Oval. It comes after a group of five Xavier College students were allegedly threatened with knives and robbed at Glenferrie Oval last Friday.
Neil Mitchell has been contacted by Jess*, who has a 15-year-old son at the school who often stops at Glenferrie Oval on his way home to kick the footy.

“Now I’m like ‘Don’t come home on your own, make sure you’re with someone else, don’t be on your phone, don’t go down back streets, just be careful’,” she said.
“I’ve heard of terrible things happening.”
Several other schools in Melbourne’s east have also issued letters warning students about violent robberies after a string of alarming incidents in recent months.
