Cabbage moths have invaded Melbourne in recent days.

3AW’s Jacqui Felgate was sent vision over the weekend showing the insects flying around gardens and parks around the state.

Entomologist Dr Thomas White told 3AW Drive it was a combination of factors which has seen an increasing number of moths flying around Melbourne.

“It’s been a historically warm winter,” he said.

“So it means the adults and eggs made it all the way through relatively unscathed.”
