Mother details frustration after elective surgery snub for her five-year-old son

A mother has detailed her frustration after finding out elective surgery for her five-year-old son would not be going ahead at Leongatha Hospital next month.
Erin told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive her son had been on a waiting list since February last year, and had missed 14 weeks of kindergarten in the last year due to infections.
“We’ve delayed the start of school because he’s just not ready,” Erin said.

“It is just not good enough,” Jacqui Felgate said.
“This is just a real world example of a system that isn’t working.”
The 3AW Drive host then read out a statement from the state government on the issue, stating how challenging and frustrating waiting for surgeries can be.
“They’re full of excuses, they just do not have the solutions unfortunately,” Crozier said about the government’s statement.
