The EPA says 34 of the 36 monitored Port Phillip beaches ‘may not be suitable’ for swimming over the Labour Day weekend.

Heavy rain over the past few days has increased storm water run-off, which has caused an elevated risk of high bacterial levels in the water which can lead to gastroenteritis.
