‘Most appalling of crimes’: Parents left heartbroken as thieves deface children’s memorial

Thieves have committed “the most of appalling of crimes”, with a children’s memorial in Altona defeated and looted this week.

Around 80 bronze plaques in the Altona Memorial Park’s ‘Garden of Little Angels’ were severely damaged, causing widespread outrage across the community.

“It is just the most appalling of crimes,” Jacqui Felgate said on 3AW Drive.

Jade has a child buried at the garden and said there was a “lot of heartbreak” amongst the families.

“When I arrived there were so many parents there distraught and heartbroken,” she told 3AW.
