Moomba crowd expected to be ‘close to’ 1 million
The City of Melbourne has sets its sights on a crowd of close to 1 million people at this weekends Moomba Festival.
It’s been two years since the COVID-19 pandemic forced a pared-back version of the community festival.
Deputy Mayor of the City of Melbourne Nick Rees told Neil Mitchell it’s exciting to see it back “in all of it’s glory”.
“I think it’s going to be absolutely fantastic,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“And we’re expecting to see close to a million people along the banks of the Yarra, over the long weekend, just reigniting in the city.
“And I think Melburnians are really keen to get out and have fun again.”
