Melton shooting: Man shot in moving car by mystery gunman

A man has been shot in a moving car at Melton this morning.

The man and a woman were travelling in their vehicle about 12.40am when a shot was fired into the car.

They pulled over at a nearby service station on the Melton Highway and called 000.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman was not harmed.

Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
