Melbourne’s favourite family of peregrine falcons welcome three new chicks
Melbourne’s favourite family of peregrine falcons has just welcomed three new chicks.
The new arrivals can be viewed in their nest on the 33rd floor of 367 Collins Street via a live webcam.
Victor Hurley, from the Victorian Peregrine Program told Ross and John this particular spot has been a favourite for the falcons for almost 30 years.
“There’s been different pairs of falcons which have been coming to this building since 1991, I’ve been aware of at least six different pairs,” Victor said.
“It (this particular ledge) faces the south-east so in the morning they get the morning sun but then by the afternoon there’s shade so it’s not too hot.
“They keep coming back year on year and maintaining a nest territory.”
