Melbourne woman forced to make 1600km journey for critical brain scan
A Melbourne woman with a brain tumour has been forced make a last-minute trip to Adelaide for an urgent medical scan.
Kylie Hennessy was due to undergo surgery on Tuesday but required a functional MRI first.
Her husband, Jason, says she’s been unable to get one in Victoria, so her surgery has had to be postponed while she travelled to South Australia for the scan.

“We couldn’t get this functional MRI in time, due to The Alfred Hospital’s MRI machine being broken,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“She then went to the Royal Melbourne — their functional MRI was broken also.
“St Vincent’s were booked out until December.”
After an urgent call around, Ms Hennessy managed to get a scan in Adelaide.
But she still doesn’t know when she’ll be able to have surgery.
