Melbourne to put on biggest ever fireworks display

Melbourne’s Lord Mayor says the city will put on its biggest ever firework display this New Years Eve.

Fireworks will be set off from 30 rooftops across the CBD, with around 450,000 people expected to come in to watch the display.

Sally Capp told Shane McInnes Melbourne “has its mojo back”.

“It is really worth celebrating given everything we’ve been through together as a community,” she said.

“We have really up the ante this year, we usually have about 22 rooftops, we have 30 rooftops this year.

“Literally the fireworks will dance across the skyline.”
