RUMOUR CONFIRMED

A Brighton teenager has become the youngest Australian to ever climb Mount Everest.

Gabby Kanizay, 19, scaled the mountain with her mother at the weekend.

The Rumour File was tipped off to the impressive feat on Monday.

Jarrod Kanizay says his daughter Gabby and her mother Jane are “incredible women and a dynamic duo”.

“She (Gabby) had the dream at 14 and she’s one of those people that sticks to her guns,” Mr Kanizay told Ross and Russel.

Preparation for the feat took years.

“There were lots of incremental little steps along the way,” Mr Kanizay said.

“The first trip was 5000 metres, then 6000, 7000, then 8000 back a couple of years ago now.

“They kept going back and going higher and higher.”
