Melbourne ranked among world’s most liveable cities
The 2022 Global Liveability Index has been released, and Melbourne is the only Australian city to make the top 10.
Melbourne came in at equal 10th place with Osaka in Japan.

It’s a fall of two places on last year, where Melbourne ranked eighth.
Lord mayor Sally Capp said she’s “absolutely delighted” by the result.
“We ranked really well on key metrics such as education and infrastructure, we were the best rated city on culture and entertainment,” she told Ross and Russel.
“We’ve still got some work to do on our healthcare system.”
Sydney came in at 13th on the list.
