Melburnians are being warned to prepare for lengthy delays on the roads over the holiday period.

From 9pm on Boxing Day until January 4, maintenance works will be underway on the West Gate Bridge.

Only one outbound lane will be open, and drivers are being warned to expect delays in excess of 90 minutes.

“The key is start thinking about it now, what you’re planning to do in that period.”
