Melbourne man pulls FIVE e-scooters from the Yarra River
When Melbourne’s shared e-scooter trial began earlier this month, there were fears there’d be a repeat of the dumping seen when the city introduced oBikes.
Those fears appear to be founded.
A Melbourne filmmaker went looking for e-scooters in the Yarra River on Sunday morning.
He says he found FIVE of them in less than two hours, and has posted footage of his ‘fishing’ on YouTube.
Tommy Jackett told Neil Mitchell it’s not a set up.
“I went down to the Princes Bridge where four years ago I was able to fish out a bunch of oBikes, and sure enough as soon as I got there there was a e-scooter,” he said.
“I headed up towards Crown, I didn’t have to go more than probably 80 metres and I found another two, then I headed back towards the MCG way and sure enough there was two more in the water.
“I just pulled them out and put them back on land … I don’t even know if they work.”
