Melbourne Demons legend Todd Viney on son Jack following in his footsteps
Melbourne Demons cult figure Todd Viney knew his son Jack would follow in his footsteps from a young age, as Jack looks to continue on the Viney legacy this weekend as finals commence.
Todd featured in Melbourne’s team of the century and was known as a fierce competitor, while Jack is currently vice-captain of the club and was apart of the premiership side last season.
This Sunday marks Fathers Day, and Todd and Jack Viney joined Neil Mitchell to discuss the bond they share and the memories that have been made both on the footy field and back at home.
“He certainly was strong willed from a young age and we probably knew that he was going to use that aggression for good and not evil,” Todd said about Jack from a young age.
Jack was very physical in junior football and even had to play up an age level due to injuring opponents with his fierce tackling!
“I think it’s just been really natural for me, it’s just how I’ve played the game and I really enjoy the physical aspect of it and I haven’t known any differently,” Jack said on inheriting his Dad’s toughness.
