MCG security causes headaches for fans as long delays spark outrage

Football fans have been dealt a blow as long wait times to get into the MCG for Saturday’s Richmond-Brisbane clash caused tensions to rise.

Disruptions were caused due to a security breach at the MCG during Thursday’s Collingwood-Carlton match, as Jacqui Reed analysed the situation.

“The queues outside look a little bit like Grand Final Day outside gate two and gate three,” Reed said pre-game on 3AW Football.

“Fans have experienced at least 30 minutes of delays. It’s far more thorough than we’ve experienced in the last few weeks.”
