Mayor defends efficiency of new multi-million dollar customer service system
The City of Port Phillip says it was always anticipating problems with its new $23 million customer service system.
But the mayor says they’re minor, and will be fixed shortly.
Tom Elliott got a tip-off on Wednesday about the new system, with some ratepayers saying they were struggling to pay rates and even having them mailed to them, when they’d asked to pay them online.
Louise Crawford said the council wanted to hear any feedback ratepayers had.
“We were prepared for some teething problems, but it’s mostly working,” she said on 3AW Drive.
