Matthew Richardson hits out at ‘hysteria’ surrounding state of footy

The AFL great hit back at the “hysteria” surrounding the state of the game on Wednesday.

Many critics have complained about the high level of congestion and skill level on display this season.

“It’s completely over the top,” Matthew Richardson said on 3AW.

“What an absolute nonsense.

“It happens every year.

“It’s like groundhog day.

“I’ve actually enjoyed the last two seasons.

“The competition has never been more even.

“I think it’s still a pretty good product.”
