Darcy has already copped a two-game ban for a late hit on Brayden Maynard, while Harley Reid is also tipped to be handed a ban for a dangerous tackle on Darcy Wilson.

Matthew Richardson says the current rules on eligibility to win the Rising Star should be changed, allowing players who are suspended to still win the award.

“He’ll get his two game ban but I don’t think (Sam Darcy) should be rubbed out for that action for the Rising Star and I don’t think Harley Reid should be either.”
