Matthew Lloyd urges Essendon to land ‘one-two punch’ in upcoming draft

Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd is urging his former club to target two forwards in the upcoming draft as they look to refresh the setup ahead of 2025.

The Bombers will bring in gun small forward academy prospect Isaac Kako, but there’s another name who Lloyd thinks Essendon should look to pick up with their first selection in the draft.

“They can get the gun key forward and then get a gun small forward,” Lloyd told the 3AW Football trade podcast.

“That’s the one-two punch the Bombers can look at.”
