‘Massive vibe shift’: New poll suggests growing support for celebrating Australia Day
A new poll has found growing support for celebrating Australia Day.
The poll conducted on behalf of the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA), found 69 per cent of respondents agreed with the statement ‘Australia Day should be celebrated on January 26′, up from 63 per cent last year.
“There is a massive vibe shift over our national day,” Daniel Wild, Deputy Executive Director of the IPA said on 3AW Breakfast.

“Of course we’re not perfect, but we are a country worth celebrating, and the 26th of January is the right day to do it,” he said.
“We’re seeing a resurgence in support, not just for Australia Day, but for celebrating Australia Day on the 26th of January.”
