Masked men terrorise staff at bank in Melbourne’s west
Two masked men have stormed a bank in Melbourne’s west, terrorising staff and brandishing a what appears to be a sawn-off shotgun.
The men, one wearing a Guy Fawkes mask and the other a balaclava, were believed to be carrying a firearm when they entered the Bendigo Bank in Laverton last week.
Shortly before 10am on Thursday December 21, the men, who are not known to police, entered the bank and made demands for money.
In CCTV of the incident customers can been seen crouching down in fear as one of the men kicks at a machine to gain access to cash.
The pair fled with an amount of cash towards Altona Meadows, in a silver Nissan Pulsar.
The vehicle has been recovered but the offenders remain on the run.
The man in the mask, similar to those in the film ‘V for Vendetta’, has long greasy hair and was wearing a high visibility vest, the other a white hoodie.
Police are interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area and has dashcam footage around the time of this incident.

Bank robbery, daylight hours in Laverton last week. Pretty rare in Melbourne these days, crooks usually target servos, grog stores and ATMs. @3AW693 pic.twitter.com/Q2wBAn31Fi
