Mark Neeld quits role at Essendon following shock loss to Carlton
The first domino has fallen at Essendon following Saturday’s shock loss to Carlton, with assistant Mark Neeld handing in his resignation.
The former Melbourne coach has told the Bombers he’d be leaving the club, effective immediately.
“We thank Mark for his service and dedication, and we wish him and his family all the best for the future,” the club said in a statement.
Neeld said he was ready to explore a new chapter in his career.
“After discussions with the Club, including the potential restructure of the coaching group, I felt now was the right time to move on,” Neeld said.
“I feel this decision is in the best interests of the club, and for myself and my family.”
