Mark Bouris reveals his most important life lesson

Mark Bouris says working for himself has been the most important life lesson that has guided his career.

He’s made his mark in business and media, having been CEO of Wizard Home Loans and host of The Apprentice Australia.

He told Neil Mitchell he felt working for someone else stunted his ability to grow.

“I was working … at an accounting office,” he said on What Makes You Tick?

“I felt as though they were never going to give me an opportunity to grow quickly enough for me.

“And as a result of that I left, and I only stayed there for about nine months, but it was good experience.

“So that life lesson was always work for yourself, be in control of your own outcomes.

“And also, by the way, be responsible for both your successes and your failures.”
