Man stomped on in sickening Traralgon attack

CCTV footage has been released of three men following a sickening attack in Traralgon yesterday.

Investigators have been told the victim — a 55-year-old man — was sitting at a bench outside a shopping centre on Franklin Street when he was struck in the head without warning.

One of the attackers yelled at the victim, accusing him of touching his girlfriend.

The assault continued in the carpark where one offender punched the man, causing him to fall to the ground.

A second offender then tried to stomp on the victim’s head.

A number of witnesses stopped and pleaded with the men to stop.

A third man, also believed to be known to the offenders, appeared to film the assault.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the men in the footage (below) to contact Crime Stoppers.
