Man shot dead overnight in Melbourne’s north believed to be influential Calabrian mafia figure
A man who was shot dead overnight in Greenvale is reportedly thought to be an influential Calabrian mafia figure.
Police haven’t confirmed the deceased man’s identity, but investigative reporter for The Age, Nick McKenzie says John Latorre’s death has “all the hallmarks” of a mafia hit.
“A single shot to the head at 4:30 in the morning, presumably, John Latorre was going to his business at the wholesale fruit and vegetable markets,” he told Tom Elliott.
