Man rushed to hospital after serious assault in Melbourne’s CBD

A 29-year-old man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an assault in Melbourne’s CBD.

The assault occurred on the intersection of Bourke and Elizabeth streets at around 1am this morning.

A 35-year-old man was subsequently arrested near Flinders Street Station, who remains in custody and is expected to be charged with serious assault-related offences.

Both men are believed to be known to one another.
