Man charged over horrifying Bourke Street incident

A 26-year-old man has been charged over a terrifying incident on Bourke Street.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon as police responded to reports of a man parked in Bourke Street with a smashed windscreen, who appeared to be unconscious.

As police approached the vehicle the man drove toward them, allegedly ramming the police car.

The man was tasered before being taken into custody.

He’s facing charges including conduct endangering life.
