Man, 43, dies after he was the alleged victim of a vicious assault at Rosedale

A 43-year-old man is dead following an alleged vicious assault.

The man was found lying on the road near the Princes Highway at Rosedale in Gippsland just before 10pm on Tuesday night.

He was flown to hospital in a critical condition but could not be saved.

A 37-year-old man is in custody in relation to the incident.

Police believe both parties are known to each other and the investigation is ongoing.
