Major intersection in the spotlight after shocking smash

A major intersection in Melbourne’s north is in the spotlight after four cars were involved in a serious accident on Tuesday afternoon.

Caller Donna told Tony Moclair a trailer was also caught up in the smash on the corner of Sydney and Bakers Road in North Coburg, with a similar incident occurring late last year in the same spot.

“Last December there was a fatality on that same corner,” she said on 3AW Afternoons.

“The barriers that protect the pedestrians got completely annihilated and VicRoads have done nothing to fix it.”
